Welcome, blessed viewers and Merry Christmas! Christmas is a special joyful time shared among loved ones around the world. It’s also a chance to assist our less fortunate neighbors, as we remember the birth of the deeply compassionate Jesus Christ.

During an international retreat in December 1997 in Washington, DC, USA, our Association members gathered to pray for world peace. Following a celebration with cultural performances, Supreme Master Ching Hai spoke about the true meaning of Christmas.

And don't forget Jesus. He also worked very hard two thousand years ago so that today we can enjoy a very, very special festival to remember God. Even though he doesn't teach us anything right now but he did. He sowed the seeds of spiritual cultivation and he reminded us of the way home. And now we follow up his footsteps.

So to remember a great teacher like this is a proper way. We should sit and pray to God, and to realize our self, and to be one with Jesus again, be one with Christ. This is the best Christmas. That is the most proper Christmas celebration. We can also enjoy very beautiful Christmas and no blood on the table. We're so happy. Thank you so much. And Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!

This year we want to spend Christmas in a different way. We will not only exchange gifts, but also, we will give presents to others.

What is the first gift?

The first gift is for the animals. We will grant life to all animals and, from today, we will not eat them, kill them, nor pay for them being killed.

Hurray! It means that Dad will prepare noodles with strawberries more often!

And vegetable soup!

It is the best gift not only for animals, but also for ourselves. The second gift is for humans and the planet. We will inform everyone that by choosing a vegan diet, they will improve their health and save the planet. Cool, the Earth will surely be happy!

I can’t wait to know what the third gift is.

The third gift is for our environment. We will plant trees to have clean air.

In 2007, our Association members had the great blessing of celebrating the Christmas holiday season with beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai at an intimate gathering in Paris, France. Supreme Master Ching Hai graced the occasion by sharing a tender song in Aulacese (Vietnamese) entitled “Cave of Bethlehem” by composer Hải Linh. We conclude our program today with this melodic rendition.

This is called the “Cave of Bethlehem.”

This is the song describing that the Lord Jesus was born in the cold night, in the manger of the donkeys. And then it says that there are Three Wise Men come. Come here, come all of you, come and have a look at the Lord who has been born so humble and so cold, in the middle of the night like this, because he wants to save human beings.

And the song says: “Oh please donkey, oh please cow, please breathe into the manger the warm air of your breath, to warm the Lord of human who has been born in this way.”
