Namaste, blessed viewers, and welcome to The World Around Us. Today, we will travel to North India and visit two holy places. Mathura and Vrindavan are regarded as among the holiest places on Earth and as the center of the universe in Hinudism’s Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition.

First we will visit Mathura, the holy city on the banks of the Yamuna, where in 3228 BC, at the end of the last Dvapara Yuga epoch, God took birth in this world in the form of Lord Krishna.

Krishna was born in an underground prison cell in which King Kamsa had confined his parents. On top of the cell, the Krishna Janmabhumi temple, also called Keshava Deo temple, was built.

Let’s now meet our friend Lajjavati who will take us on a boat trip on the sacred Yamuna River.

Now we are on the Yamuna. Yamuna is special spiritual river. She’s coming from the Supreme Planet, from Goluka Vrindavan. And we are coming to see how the people are doing puja for Yamuna, how they are offering everything for Yamuna. Just the people are offering some flowers, light.

Radhe Radhe. So nice beautiful Puja. And there, as we see, it is Keshav Ghat, it is a very old temple, is named Keshav Ghat.

It is believed that Mathura and Vrindavan are not ordinary cities but that they are a part of the highest spiritual realm, in our material world. In the Srimad Bhagavatam it is stated:

“Although Mathura and Vrindavana are situated on this planet Earth, they are transcendental abodes of the Lord.”

The people are offering light to Yamuna Ji. There are five, seven lights in some special leaf boat. And by this offering, they will have so much blessing from Yamuna Ji. And there is the offering of light now, and before they were offering some flowers and everything for Yamuna. And Yamuna, she is a special river, she is very dear to Krishna. There is Maharaj Ji, he now gives light to everyone. How many people come in, they give it for everyone.

And so beautiful song – bhajan. People say how beautiful the river is, how she is dear to Krishna. And so nice to do some service and for Yamuna, it is same like (doing service) for Krishna. And the devotees also give it some kind of wheat, they mix wheat powder with water and offer it to Yamuna for all the fishes which are here.

It is a very old temple, about 500 years. And before here, it is 5,000 years ago, Krishna, he played here, and he took a bath here. And now, so many old men and spiritual men, they take a bath in Yamuna, and there is something very special.

If you take a bath in Yamuna, if you are dropping some little on your head, it is very blessing, not only for you, you can pray for your ur…father, mother, for all parents and for all grandmothers, who have died also. Because here is also some special ceremony for dead bodies. They make a fire there, and put the old dust into Yamuna Ji. Because people don’t want to be born again here in this material world. They want to go back to the spiritual world.

And Yamuna, she comes in from the spiritual world. She is not material.

(There were) so many beautiful pastimes here of Radha and Krishna, with Krishna and his boy friends.

Next, we’ll visit the Govardhan hill which belongs to Vrindavan, the place where Lord Krishna spent his childhood. Vrindavan has a population of 55,000 inhabitants and more than 5,000 temples.

And when Krishna was about 7 years old, there is some very beautiful story. All these village girls, they come to Govardhan, and they give some prayers to Govardhan; they bring so many food there, because they pray to Indra.

And Krishna was at that time in Govardhan, and he said, “Eh! For whom do you bring these all things? Why do you pray to Indra? You should pray to me, I am God.” And nobody understands he is God, because everyone feels he is like a friend. Okay, they gave him everything what they brought with them…

And Indra, he is so angry. He said, “Hey, what is going on? Why are all things which should be given to me given to this small boy? And he started to pour very big rain, and rain, just like a river going from the sky. And everyone was afraid, they came to Krishna.

And Krishna said, “What’s the problem? He just took this hill and put it on his small finger, and stayed like this. And for 7 days and 7 nights, rain was coming and all village people came inside this hill…

Our pilgrimage in India tracing the footsteps of young Lord Krishna continues when we return. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television.

Welcome back to The World Around Us on Supreme Master Television. We now continue our pilgrimage tracing the footsteps of young Lord Krishna in northern India.

Now we are at Radha Kund and Shyama Kund. It is a very spiritual place and there is some spiritual game which is going on with Radha and Krishna. We are going now, we are doing Parikram. Parikram is a spiritual word, or pilgrimage. We are going around all the special spiritual places and we can have some special benefits from that.

She's very beautiful.

She's mother. She’s giving everything.

And so many people take good care for cows.

I'm very sorry for the Westerners who eat cows because it is so bad, because in the Purana, in the Vedas, it is written: “Who is killing the cow? Who is eating? Who is selling? It’s the same like the killer. And that is the killer of your mothers. And the cow gives everything.”

There is some part of Govardhan where we were before and we have to pay respect to him. Nobody touches Govardhan with their feet, because if you touch Govardhan with your feet, it is very bad karma for you.

Hare Krishna.

Hare Krishna. Yeah, and Govardhan, he is very dear to Krishna.

These ladies stay in Govardhan. And you know, (whoever) is born in Govardhan they have some special blessing. They are born in Govardhan or Vrindavan and Radha Kund. Before, they were friends of Krishna, that's why it’s like that.

Some bhajan kirtan, koi Radhe, Radhe, bolo Radhe Radhe Radhe Radhe Radhe Radhe Radhe Radhe Radhe Radhe Radhe Radhe Radhe Radhe, bolo Ayenge, ayenge bihari, bolo

See how they have mood, mood They're so light because you can't dance without any mood inside, like this. There's feeling like it, they are feeling.

And this is an old, old temple, they are coming from Bengal.

There are so many monkeys but they are not afraid. They feel here it's very peaceful.

Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare Hare Rama, Hare Rama Rama Rama, Hare Hare Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare Hare Rama, Hare Rama Rama Rama

Next, we’ll visit the place where the Hindu saint Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu lived during his stay in Vrindavan. Lord Chaitanya is also called the Golden Avatar due to his golden radiance, and is regarded as a combined incarnation of both Krishna and Radha. Singing and dancing in Divine ecstasy, he promoted the chanting of the Name of God, especially of the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra (Great Mantra), as the safest and easiest way to reach liberation.

The Hare Krishna Mantra is also praised in the Holy Puranas of Hinduism: “All the grievous sins are removed for one who worships Lord Sri Hari, the Lord of all lords, and chants the holy name, the Maha-mantra.”

We are now in a temple. There is Mahaprabhu, he stayed there near the Tamal tree. Mahaprabhu, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, he is the same as Krishna, Radha-Krishna himself. He has golden skin like Radharani and inside he has mood like Krishna. And he came 500 years ago to protect all people for religion.

Now we can go inside and we will see this very old tree, this tree is about 500 years (old). There is Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, he’s sitting and he's praying, "Hey Krishna, where are you? I want to see you. , I want to remember you always.” And when he prayed to Krishna and when he sang and just he has so big ecstasy. And he cried with ecstasy.

Krishna, Narayan, Mahaprabhu.

And that one picture, you see, there is a yellow hand, it is Maha, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

People respect this temple very much because (it is) where a real God, came in that place, then we can feel (it) because God never leaves of any places, where he put in his step or where he's sitting there is some mood is there. You can feel this.

Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, he came here 500 years ago, and he sat here near this tree, and we can see his feet. It’s a spiritual lake, it is Shyama Kunda. And now we are in this old very old temple. It is the Nityananda temple. Nityananda is the small brother of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

This concludes our travels to the ancient holy cities of Mathura and Vrindavan in North India.

Come visit the Museum of Palestinian Folk Heritage, founded in 1977 by the In’ash Al-Usra Society.

They had this kind of basket instead of plastic bags which exist today. They had the tray instead of the table, and instead of the car, they had the al methane (cart)…
