EarthSave, a California, United States-based non-profit, initiated a 30-day intervention program to raise awareness about the numerous advantages of adopting an animal-free eating plan. Twenty individuals from the Sacramento,California Food Bank  and Family Services participated in “Meals for Health.”

They were provided with information about the healthy, vegan diet with the help of expert speakers, cooking demonstrations, nutritionists, and chefs. In addition, they were given access to food coaches as well as health check-ups to monitor their improvements in areas such as cholesterol, blood sugar, and weight.

Several of those taking part described their amazing results at a celebration of the success of “Meals for Health.”

Ollie McDaniels (f): I want to thank the Creator for putting great minds together that made this happen for me and my life at this time when I need it the most.

In four days, I was off my blood pressure medicine. I don't see myself going back to ever eating the way that I was eating because of the fact that I’m medicine-free right now, and I’m loving it.

Kimberlee Wilson (f): Three days after changing what I eat, I've not had IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). I don’t have migraines anymore. I feel so much healthier. I have so much energy. I just am so excited. I’ve lost over 40 pounds in two-and-a-half months. I am so grateful to everyone here that started this program, because I have a life now. I can live and enjoy my life and spend time with my kids.

ANCHOR: Among those involved in the program were distinguished US vegan physician and bestselling author, Dr. John McDougall and his wife, Ms. Mary McDougall, who led “Meals for Health.” Vegan founder of EarthSave Mr. John Robbins and Mr. Rip Esselstyn, vegan bestselling author of “The Engine 2 Diet, also assisted.

John Robbins (f): There is a way to live, and a way to eat, and a way to be with one another and the Earth that allows us to ground and anchor in what is real and who we really are, and our love for one another and thrive. Those safe food choices are also kindest to the other creatures.

They don’t exploit. They don’t cause damage, and they use the fewest resources. They cause the least pollution. They are the most Earth-friendly. They damage the planet the least. They allow the most others to eat.

ANCHOR: Bravo, all participants of “Meals for Health!”  Also, our gratitude, EarthSave, Mr. John Robbins, Dr. John and Mary McDougall, Mr. Rip Esselstyn, and the numerous caring individuals who helped with this important program. On August 27, at Supreme Master Television’s 5th anniversary celebration “The Real Love”, a donation of US$35,000 from Supreme Master Ching Hai was presented to EarthSave, highlighting the “Meals for Health” program. It was accepted by EarthSave Chief Executive Officer and Board Chair Jeff Nelson and EarthSave Founder John Robbins.

May the compassionate and vibrant vegan way of life continue to grow as more realize its multitude of benefits to all beings on our precious eco sphere.
