In good governance news, Australia plans to ban tobacco advertisements on the internet. The new law to prohibit retailers from promoting cheap or tax free cigarettes online is part of the government’s campaign to cut smoking rates by 10% by 2018. Health Minister Her Excellency Nicola Roxon stated, “Together with our efforts to mandate the plain packaging of tobacco products from 2012, Australia is on track to have the world’s toughest measures against bacco.”

Our gratitude, Your Excellency Nicola Roxon and Australian government, for your decisive steps to protect the health of your co-citizens. May all leaders and individuals take the necessary actions to promote greater well-being for each of Earth’s inhabitants.
