The Board of Education in Argentina’s capital city has passed a resolution requiring that only healthy foods be served at stands where snacks are sold in schools.
The resolution thus ensures that new vending contracts will be awarded to those who provide foods such as fresh and dried fruits, nuts and vegetable sandwiches as well as juices and mineral water. Meanwhile, candies, sodas and other less nutritious selections will be phased out at concession stands throughout the city’s more than 3,000 schools.
Bravo, Buenos Aires and Argentina for this move that promotes the well being of your wholesome children. May such progressive plant-based initiatives be implemented in schools worldwide for the vibrant health and goodness of all precious youths.
