After reviewing animal transport inspection reports, Canada-based World Society for the Protection of Animals calls for improvement of animal welfare regulations, saying that up to three million animals die each year while being transported to slaughterhouses due to inhumane conditions including extreme overcrowding, animal injury and prolonged neglect.
