今年夏季是第5高的氣溫

美國氣候數據中心（National Climatic Data Center）的科學家在9月15日指出自從132年前開始記錄氣溫以來，今年夏季是第5高的氣溫。美國冰雪數據中心（National Snow and Ice Data Center）也宣布北極海冰已經萎縮到歷來第2小的紀錄。

樹木與湖泊有助於降溫

美國華盛頓首府（Washington DC）的卡內基科學研究所（Carnegie Institution for Science）9月14日所刊登的環境研究快報（Environmental Research Letters）指出，樹木與湖泊所蒸散的水分不但對當地有助益，專家還新發現這些水分對整個地球也有冷卻效果。
