動力發電條可轉換成供應電力

美國馬里蘭州新能源科技公司（New Energy Technologies company）2011年11月推出「動力發電條」原型，其外形如減速路障鋪設於路面，接收行駛車輛動能再轉換成電力供應路燈或甚至家庭使用。

抽取地下水危及水生生態系統

2011年11月19日，美國研究指出抽取來自該國高原含水層的地下水已導致溪流水量減少，危及當地原生魚類與其水生生態系統，也全面影響與該水路相鄰之區域。

高溫降雨威脅大象生命
