種樹並無實質降低全球暖化效果

加拿大學者在6月19日公布研究結果表示，雖然種樹的效益略可彌補森林的砍伐，但對於降低全球暖化並沒有實質效果，因此不應該作為實際降低溫室氣體（greenhouse gas）的替代方案。

氣候變遷造成溫度與海平面上升

國家科學院學報（Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences）2011年6月刊登1篇研究發現，目前美國大西洋沿岸海平面上升是2000年以來升幅速度最快的，原因為氣候變遷（climate change）造成全球溫度的上升。
