World’s fish populations are on the decline.

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization states that 75 percent of all commercially fished species are being over-fished. Callum Roberts, professor of marine conservation at the UK’s York University, as well as other scientists, say that industrial-scale fishing over the past 90 years has led to the loss of not just fish, but entire biological food chains. Dr. Roberts suggests the immediate designation of permanent refuge areas throughout the world's oceans, to enable the fish’s recovery before it is too late.

Many thanks, respected experts, for raising awareness about the human-caused losses in our oceans. We pray for actions to restore marine environments so aquatic life may thrive and flourish.
