Climate Change Seminar in Tokyo, Japan.

Within a day of the Climate Change International Conference that took place in California, USA, our Association’s center in Tokyo, Japan hosted the SOS: Stop Global Warming Seminar. This was a gathering of concerned dignitaries from technology, medicine and other fields, each of whom had prepared questions to ask the special honored guest Supreme Master Ching Hai. Despite her busy schedule, Supreme Master Ching Hai graciously took the time to answer all the questions, providing both universal insights as well as astute advice for the people of Japan. The following is one highlight from the event.

SOS: Stop Global Warming Seminar
Live Videoconference with Supreme Master Ching Hai
Tokyo, Japan – July 27, 2008

MC (M): How will Japan change if people make wise choices and the ratio of vegetarians surpasses that of non-vegetarians?

Supreme Master Ching Hai: Right now we have to get the population going into the vegetarian direction and then we shall see. Not just Japan, but everywhere the world will change into a heavenly abode. The ice will stop melting, the Earth will be cooled down, and all the things that have been damaged in the past will be repaired by nature itself, by our own merit of a virtuous life. Every action provokes a reaction, so if we do good action, the reaction will be definitely good.

VOICE: The conference room was at full capacity and a lasting impression remained with many participants, some of whom shared their thoughts with Supreme Master Television.

Eiko Mochinaga (F): I think, from now on, for the sake of our next generation or even just for our generation, I will be more active and work harder to spread vegetarianism.

Gary Niklason, Educator based in Japan (M): It’s wonderful today at the global warming seminar to hear that we have more time to get things together on this planet.

Zhang Hui, Chinese Traditional Medicine doctor (M): There was a very famous doctor in the Tang dynasty of China called Sun Su-miao. He has a very famous statement in his masterpiece saying that killing lives for survival will take your own health away.

Satomi Suzuki, Student (F): After hearing the different perspectives from the speeches of the experts, I was once again reminded about the crisis of global warming and the importance of vegetarianism.

VOICE: We thank all involved in this meaningful seminar that has raised awareness about the most important solution to climate change: a world of people choosing to live an animal-free lifestyle. Our sincere gratitude to Supreme Master Ching Hai for her constant encouragement that we may realize this noble dream. With Heaven’s grace, we pray it will come true very soon.

Please tune in to Supreme Master Television’s Words of Wisdom at a later date for the re-broadcast of the live SOS: Stop Global Warming Seminar with Supreme Master Ching Hai, with multi-language subtitles.

Accelerated climatic changes predicted.

Research conducted for the organization Global 2000 at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life in Vienna has found that although the climate can only handle two tons of greenhouse emissions for every person; Austrians are averaging 11 tons per person every year, with Americans emitting on average 25 tons of emissions per person per year. Scientists say the global warming that results from these kinds of emissions is too rapid for either humans or nature to be able to adjust to. In order to halt the devastating climate effects such as heat waves, drought and other health conditions, these experts are advising developed nations to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent.

We thank you, esteemed researchers, for your findings that illuminate the toll we are taking on our planetary abode. We pray that all governments heed these warnings, to take the rapid steps necessary such as openly encouraging all world citizens to adopt vegetarian/vegan diet for saving our precious life-sustaining Earth.
