In inter-cultural news, Palestinian and Israeli children play football together through a project sponsored by the European Union. “Football: Our Common Ground” holds matches four or five times a year, which take place in Palestine or Israel. Co-sponsored by an Israeli non-profit organization and football team, and a Palestinian non-profit and local council in Umm al-Kheir, the games give the youngsters an opportunity to develop amicable relations as well as improve their sports skills. All teams have both Israeli and Palestinian members.
