Two bases in Iraq’s southern Basra province have been transferred to Iraqi security from US troops.
In the upcoming months the United States plans to reduce troops by half in the Basra province, with complete
withdrawal scheduled for the end of 2011.

We are grateful to know of this progress towards stability in Iraq.
