Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association relief news update from Côte d'Ivoire.
Downpours at the end of June set off landslides and floods in the city of Abidjan, claiming 11 lives in an underprivileged area, where many people were also rendered homeless as homes and other buildings were destroyed.

Conveying her wholehearted condolences and prayers, Supreme Master Ching Hai donated US$7,500 in aid, requesting that our Association members go help the most desperately afflicted.

This amount could acquire US$205,000 in emergency supplies if purchased in the United States, based on the cost of living in Côte d'Ivoire.

Our Association’s relief team from Benin travelled to Abidjan, covering their own travel and related expenses of US$450.

They brought six tons of rice, 760 liters of vegetable oil, and one ton of salt to distribute to the storm victims, who expressed much gratitude to Supreme Master Ching Hai.

Our Association’s relief team was also graciously hosted by the city mayor of Yopougon in Abidjan, who was deeply touched by her compassionate concern and sent a letter of thanks to Supreme Master Ching Hai.

City Mayor Mr. Gbamnan Félicien, Yopougon, Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire (M): You are appeared as if called upon by God Hirmself to come to bring us support and assistance. So I really want to thank you.

Mr. Melehi Kohou, Relief recipient representative, Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire (M): Truly we are surprised because we did not know that an NGO could do this for us.

Truly we are in distress, so we say thank you to the [Supreme Master Ching Hai International] Association offering us these donations, which relieve us.
We are very happy, very happy with what you just did. Thank you to the Supreme Master Ching Hai.

Relief recipient, Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire (F): We are happy to receive donations from Supreme Master Ching Hai. We are really happy. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

VOICE: We send our gratitude for the mayor’ kind hospitality as we join in thanking Supreme Master Ching Hai for her unconditional care as well as our Association’s relief team for their dedicated help.
May Heaven bless the people of Côte d'Ivoire with renewed comfort and productivity as humanity’s kinder regard for all beings helps restore the Earth’s stability.
