Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association relief news update from Thailand.

On July 13, massive downpours caused widespread flooding that isolated over 3,000 families in the hardest hit Phang Nga province. Supreme Master Ching Hai quickly donated
US$30,000 on July 15 for those most in need, an amount that could obtain US$166,000 in supplies if purchased in the United States, based on Thailand’s cost of living. On July 21, our Association’s Thai relief team went to Phang Nga Province.

Relief recipient: The flooding only spared our roofs. It was approximately 2-3 meters and we had to stand all night without any food. At lunch time we also were unable to eat, as the electrical plugs were in the water so we dared not cook rice for fear of electrocution.

VOICE: With Master’s donation as well as their own funds, they distributed basic food necessities to over 4,400 worst-afflicted families in four sub-districts along with treats and soy milk for the children. Included as well were SOS flyers with Veg Benefits to inform residents about global warming.

Mr. Krittaya Plikomol, Chief Executive of Bang Sai Subdistrict Administrative Organization (M): Thank you Master Ching Hai for thinking of us, the people who have encountered hardship due to the floods this time. And you also tell us that it’s easy to Save the Earth; just conserve nature, prevent contamination, and turn to a vegetarian diet to stop global warming so that our family life can continue to be harmonious.

Mr.Jarun Srisawang, Alderman of Takua Pa (M):  Today, I would like to thank Master Ching Hai very much for donating sacks of rice and dried goods for flood victims at Takua Pa district.

VOICE: We convey our heartfelt gratitude to Supreme Master Ching Hai, whose caring aid comforts those in need, along with our Association’s relief team for their dedicated efforts. May Buddha bless the Thai people with a quick recovery as people’s kinder lifestyles help restore Earth’s balance.
