As authorized by North Korea's Supreme Leader Kim Jong-Il, a delegation of officials traveled to South Korea to convey condolences for the late 8th South Korean president Kim Dae-Jung.

During their visit, they also met with senior South Korean officials and requested a meeting with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, which His Excellency agreed to.

Following the meeting on Sunday, which focused on harmonizing relations between the two countries, South Korean presidential spokesman Lee Dong-kwan stated, "President Lee said, if South and North Korea solve problems through dialogue and in a sincere manner, there is nothing we cannot resolve.”

He went on to say that the delegation from North Korea also suggested that both sides could reach agreement through cooperation.

Our respectful congratulations, North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-Il, President Lee Myung-bak of South Korea, and North and South Korean delegation members for your auspicious meetings.
May your cordial initiatives bring lasting harmony and prosperity to all people of your nations.
