China’s vice president visits Singapore. Arriving Sunday, November 14 for his first state visit and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties, Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping met with Singaporean leaders, including Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. The leaders witnessed the signing of an agreement to establish a research institute in Suzhou, China, that will be operated by the National University of Singapore (NUS), which will conduct business training programs as part of a larger effort to enhance their countries’ collaboration. Other agreements reached included one for cultural cooperation and museum exchange, as well as an accord made for further educational collaboration between China’s Nanyang Technological University and Singapore’s Tainjin Eco-City.

Our respectful congratulations, Your Excellencies, on your cordial meetings and fruitful agreements. May your continued neighborly relations bring abundance and harmonious upliftment for the people of both your nations.
