NATO to reduce Kosovo troops. On Friday, October 29, Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Anders Fogh Rasmussen, announced plans to reduce by half the number of troops stationed in Kosovo since 1999. Some 5,000 soldiers will thus be departing over the next few months in recognition of the area’s increasing stability. Secretary-General Rasmussen stated, “The security conditions in Kosovo continue to improve, which is a positive sign not only for Kosovo, but for the whole region.”

We thank Secretary-General Rasmussen and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization for this decision that furthers the peace and safety of both soldiers and Kosovar residents. Wishing the gentle-hearted people of Kosovo harmonious relations expanding to all nations of the world.
