South Korea and Malaysia celebrate amicable relations. Accompanied by nearly 200 senior government officials and business leaders, South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, arrived for a first-ever visit on Thursday, December 9, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties as well as to increase cooperative endeavors. On Friday, he was welcomed for a state meeting with His Majesty Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, King of Malaysia. He then met with Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and a Malaysian delegation, where they agreed to further collaboration in fields such as trade, higher education, technology and tourism. The two also spoke of a future free trade agreement.

Our respectful congratulations, Your Majesty, Your Excellencies, and all parties involved for your progressive meetings and your nations’ longstanding harmonious relations. With Heaven’s grace, may the people of South Korea and Malaysia flourish in shared abundance, friendship and peace.
