According to a new national telephone survey conducted by CNN/Opinion Research Corporation among 1136 US adults, 54 percent said they wish not to be engaged in military conflict in Afghanistan.

Conducted at the beginning of August, the poll showed that support for peace went up by 6 points since May.
CNN Polling Director Keating Holland said that a full 75% of Democratic Party members oppose the war.
Our glad commendation, US citizens, for seeking a peaceful resolution from your nation. May brethren of the United States and Afghanistan be graced with a cordial friendship.
