Nori Seaweed Wrap
Ingredients:
Nori Seaweed Wrap:
- Nori seaweed sheets, cut into 4
- Vegan cheese slices, cut into finger size strings the length of the cut seaweed sheet
- Vegan ham paste (or solid vegan ham, optional)
- Firm tofu, cut into finger size strings the length of the cut seaweed sheet
- Onion (optional: leek), sliced
- Coriander (or cilantro), chopped
- Black pepper
- Salt
- Cooking oil
Boiled Mixed Vegetables:
- Cauliflower, carrot, broccoli, tomatoes, or any other vegetables, cut into small pieces.
Dipping Sauce:
- Salt
- Vinegar
- Lemon
- Maggi sauce (optional: soy sauce)
Directions: Nori Seaweed Wrap:
- If using vegan ham paste: mix with the chopped coriander (cilantro), steam for a few minutes until the ham thickens. Cut into finger size strings the length of the cut seaweed sheet.
- Sprinkle some salt and pepper on the cut tofu.
- Put the tofu in the middle of the nori and roll. Dab some water on the edge of the nori to help it stick. The wrap is about the size of your finger.
- Make different wraps with the ham or tofu by itself or with ham and onion or tofu and onion or ham with coriander.
- Heat some oil in a pan.
- Fry the nori wraps until it turns golden and crunchy, about 1 minute.
- Remove the fried wraps from the pan and put on a sieve or some paper towel to drain the oil.
Boiled Mixed Vegetables:
- Boil some water in a pot.
- Add the vegetables and turn the stove off. Wait for about 2 minutes and remove the vegetables.
Serve:
- Serve the crispy fried seaweed wraps hot with the boiled mixed vegetables, or fresh vegetables, and dipping sauce.
