Ten reasons to go vegetarian, meaning an animal-free diet.

As part of this week’s World Vegetarian Week, the Times Online has suggested 10 reasons to opt for an animal-free diet.

The number one reason is that it benefits humans since grain is no longer being diverted to farmed animals.

The second reason is that it promotes kindness by eliminating practices like intense confinement.

#3, it’s good for the environment.

#4 the vegetarian diet avoids Bird Flu.

#5, all animals are intelligent and loving.

#6 you can live healthier and have lower risk of heart disease and cancer.

#7, the veggie diet is good for maintaining a healthy weight.

#8 it makes the world more peaceful.

#9 fruits and veggies taste great. And finally,

# 10, as Sir Paul McCartney says: “If anyone wants to save the planet, all they have to do is just stop eating meat. That's the single most important thing you could do.”

We salute all who are participating in World Vegetarian Week and wish you a wonderful vibrant experience and the beginning of a joyful vegetarian lifestyle!
