经济上的代价

北极海冰消失所引起的海平面上升、洪水和热浪所导致的损害，到2050年将使农业、房地产和保险界等付出高达24兆美元的代价。热浪、洪水和其他因素已经导致每年数千亿美元的损失。 （美国皮尤环境组织〔Pew Environmental Group〕的报告）
到了2100年，全球因自然灾害所造成的损失，将增加2倍至每年1,850亿美元。与气候变迁有关的强大气旋还会添上每年580亿美元的损失。 （联合国与世界银行的联合报告，2010年）
在2009年哥本哈根气候变迁高峰会上，各国通过了300亿美元基金以帮助脆弱国家因应气候变迁的冲击，此外并同意自2020年起，每年提拨1,000亿美元。
