Red and processed meats are associated with prostate cancer.

A nine-year study of over 175,000 men conducted by the US-based National Cancer Institute and published in the American Journal of Epidemiology has found that those who consumed the highest amounts of red and processed meats were at increased risk of any stage of prostate cancer and especially advanced cancer. High levels of nitrates and nitrites, the preservatives used in processed meat, along with grilling or barbecuing as a cooking method were also linked to higher risk of cancer.

Our thanks, US National Cancer Institute for this important report revealing more of the many harms caused by meat eating. Let us all protect ourselves and our families by choosing the lifesaving vegan lifestyle.
