In animal welfare news, Japan donates US$5.2 million to China to help protect the crested ibis. The Japanese International Cooperation Agency contribution was made to the China State Forestry Administration project. The funds will be used to facilitate the avian friends being restored to living in the wild in Shaanxi and central China’s Henan Province. In 1981, only seven crested ibis were found in Yangxian County. Thanks to conservation efforts, there are now more than 1,600 of the exquisite birds in the area.

Our heartfelt gratitude, Japan, for your generosity and support of the lovely crested ibis. May all our delightful feathered friends flourish evermore, with Heaven’s abundant blessings.
