The Independent of the UK reports that over 50% of Brazil’s Cerrado wilderness has been lost due to cattle farming and related agriculture, such as soy bean farms being planted to feed livestock in Europe and China, with World Wildlife Fund encouraging reducing meat consumption to
protect the environment.
