Energy storage nears its day in the sun

Storage technology for renewable energy is on the market horizon. Developers around the world have been working on battery technology to store energy generated by such means as solar and wind power. These batteries would enable power to be used at night or at times when there is no wind. Many entrepreneurs are close to introducing energy storage solutions to the market, including Canadian firm VRB Power, which expects to begin production of its battery this year. Our best wishes entrepreneurs and scientists for this important next step in the green evolution! May your products provide abundant eco-friendly energy for all to enjoy.

Seed bank securing plants for future

Scientists secure the future of plant species. The Millennium Seed Bank, based in England’s county of Sussex, plans to conserve seeds from 10 percent of the world’s flowering plants by the year 2010. From each plant, an average of 32,000 seeds are collected, which are dried, frozen and stored in a vault 200 meters beneath the Sussex countryside. With respect, we laud your efforts, Millennium Seed Bank and United Kingdom, for taking these insightful steps to preserve our Earth’s rich heritage of life-giving flora. May Heaven grant your project with great success for the good of all beings.

Carbon Dioxide Has Been Naturally Stored For A Million Years In Colorado And Rocky Mountains

Scientists find intact regions of naturally stored CO2. British geologists from the University of Manchester have discovered underground areas of carbon dioxide gas beneath the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, USA that have remained intact for more than a million years without entering the atmosphere. Referring to their potential for counteracting climate change, Project lead Dr. Stuart Gilfillan said, “Underground CO2 storage, in the correct place, should be a safe option to help us cope with emissions until we can develop cleaner energy sources.” Congratulations, Dr. Gilfillan and team, on your hopeful findings! May these carbon storing eco-technologies provide quick stepping stones on the way to universal adoption of renewable, green power sources.
