In Scandinavia, scientists report unseasonably warm weather as of November 25, 2011, with Sweden's average temperatures 7 degrees Celsius above average and lack of snow in countries like Finland resulting in the cancelation of this year's international World Cup skiing event.

As one of many Himalayan glaciers that are retreating due to warming temperatures, Bhutan’s 4,450-meter high Thorthormi is noted as of November 28, 2011 to be shrinking by up to 35 meters a year, while scientists report that the lake at its base has tripled in size since 2001 and is in danger of bursting.
