US-based Harvard University School of Public Health researchers have revealed the results of a first-ever study to examine the effects of different types of meat on type 2 diabetes.

They concluded that one small daily serving of unprocessed red meat increased diabetes risk by 12% over a decade, while one daily serving of processed red meat, like bacon, increases the likelihood by 32%.

The authors also found that substituting other protein sources, such as nuts and whole grains, correspondingly reduces diabetes risk.

Our sincere thanks, Harvard researchers, for sharing these facts about both the harms of meat consumption and the benefits of plant-based alternatives.

Wishing that people everywhere may avoid all such health hazards by turning toward the humane and wholesome vegan fare.
