Evaluating data from ６１ previous studies, researchers at the University of Nottingham in England report on September ８, ２０１１ that children whose mothers smoke have a ６２% higher risk of painful ear infections and hearing problems, in addition to being ８６% more likely to require surgery for middle ear infections.
