Saying that smoking kills 40,000 people in the country each year, three times more than those who perish in traffic accidents, Aulacese (Vietnamese) Deputy Health Minister Nguyễn Thị Xuyên stated during an August 22, 2011 seminar that the government is working on new laws to protect public health from this harmful substance.
