Canadian officials in Greater Vancouver Regional District announce that a district-wide smoking ban is being implemented effective in 2012 throughout the region's parks and trails to promote clean air and protect the public from smoking's harmful effects.

For its noble and life-preserving measures, Supreme Master Ching Hai is honoring Greater Vancouver Regional District with the Shining World Leadership Award.
