The Interior Ministry of the Hamas government in Palestine recently announced the smoke-free measure, which applies to schools, universities, hospitals, community clubs, restaurants, public transportation vehicles and waiting areas, as well as other areas identified by the government. In a statement, the Cabinet Secretary-general said that the ban was intended to protect public health and the environment.

Our appreciation, Gazan officials for this initiative to enhance the lives of the gracious Palestinian people. Wishing that everyone is soon free of such harmful addictions so that all may live in the healthful enjoyment of fresh, pure air.
