British health officials have reported a finding of poisonous oysters off the coast of Dorset in the United Kingdom. Toxins produced by the oysters cause a type of shellfish poisoning that results in acute diarrhea and vomiting. Officials have ordered a temporary halt on the harvesting of mussels, clams, scallops and oysters, with warning signs that have been posted for the public throughout Weymouth and Portland Borough.
