A new US study has found that quitting smoking reduces the inflammatory markers associated with both heart and lung disease. Of the 36 women studied over a period of 6-7 weeks in a smoke cessation program, several markers showed significant reductions.

Lead author Dr. Christine N. Metz of the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research in New York, USA stated that this kind of information may be motivational for those trying to quit and remain smoke free.

Our appreciation to Dr. Metz and colleagues for sharing these encouraging findings. We wish everyone the highest success in ending this harmful life-shortening habit for their own vitality and the happiness of their loved ones.
