Meat samples highly contaminated - 4 Oct 2009

A report to South Korea’s National Assembly on tests conducted on imported beef and pork from various international sources showed that nearly 20% of the meat contained Staphylococcus aureus. Campylobacter jejuni and Listeria monocytogenes were also present in some of the samples. All of these bacteria are toxic and cause food poisoning, with some leading to more serious illness.

South Korean officials, we are thankful for this candid report warning of the dangers of meat consumption. May humanity’s future be free of such damaging substances as we turn to the beneficial plant-based diet.
