Expectant mothers advised to steer clear of alcohol - 26 Sep 2009

Germany’s Federal Centre for Health Education (Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung) has stated that women who are pregnant should not drink any alcohol whatsoever, as there is no known ‘safe limit.’

The center cited research showing that alcohol consumption during pregnancy is the most common cause of physical and mental damage to a baby developing in the womb.

Relaxation through activities such as reading, yoga and meditation is recommended instead. Moreover, there are many special herbal and spice teas that can be safely enjoyed during pregnancy.

Our heartfelt thanks, Federal Centre for Health Education and Germany, for your caring advice. Wishing the benefits of alcohol-free living for the health and happiness of all moms and their babies.
