Compass Group, headquartered in the United Kindgom, has launched its “Be a Flexitarian” campaign encouraging people to incorporate meat-free meals into their diet. Developed with the help of the Humane Society of the United States, the initiative will be promoted in the company’s 8,500 US corporate and academic food service cafeterias with reduced meat as well as vegan options being offered.

North American Nutrition & Wellness Vice President Deanne Brandstetter stated, “Vegetable sources of protein, especially legumes and grains, are packed with vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients and are good sources of more healthful unsaturated fats.

They also have no cholesterol, are generally low in saturated fat and often are lower in calories than animal proteins.”

Kudos, Compass Group and Humane Society of the United States for your efforts to provide more sustainable and compassionate meals. Wishing everyone can realize the ease and convenience of the plant-based diet for one’s well-being and to save the Earth.
