Chairman of the United Kingdom’s Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD), Professor David Nutt of Imperial College London has suggested a new system to categorize intoxicants, which would account for their physical and social damage as well as their addictiveness.
According to this method, both alcohol and tobacco would rank as being more harmful than either cannabis, typically known as marijuana, LSD, or the illegal drug
called ecstasy.
Many thanks, Professor Nutt and United Kingdom for bringing awareness of the level of damage that can be caused by so-called legal intoxicants. May our world soon be
free of toxic substances as these for the health and happiness of all people.
