Good People Good Work

Tehran’s Model Waste Management System (In Persian)

Greetings, terrific viewers, and welcome to this week’s episode of Good People, Good Works featuring the Tehran Municipality’s Organization of Waste Recycling and Composting (OWRC), headed by managing director Mr. Farhad Pour-Mohammad Sakha, who efficiently handles the waste produced by over 10 million people in Iran’s capital Tehran.

A key component of managing the waste is the city’s 22-hectare Arad-Kuh recycling site, considered to be one of the best of such facilities in the Middle East.

We recently had the good fortune to speak with Mr. Pour-Mohammad Sakha about the Organization’s role in keeping Tehran green and clean.

He first explains how the city’s current waste management system was implemented.
