Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association relief news update from Formosa (Taiwan).

The August 7 storm caused floods and enormous mudslides that buried villages, with 543 people perished, 117 still missing and 46 injured.

Conveying her condolences and love, on August 8 Supreme Master Ching Hai requested that our Formosan Association members continuously go to help and comfort the afflicted, pledging US$30,000 and more funds available as needed.

Our Association members set out immediately in relief efforts and continued on August 21 when they went to the worst-hit Kaohsiung and Tainan counties.

There, they visited hospitals and storm victims who had lost family members as well as their homes, offering cash assistance and food aid. The relief team also provided art materials for the children, much to their delight.

Lost her parents to the storm, Dalin Village, Cishan Township, Kaohsiung County (F):
We are very grateful to Supreme Master Ching-Hai for her concern about us, the victims. Thank you, thank you!

VOICE:  Our Association’s relief team visited the family of a helicopter pilot who perished during rescue efforts,
providing them with financial aid to help with their expenses while conveying Master’s love and condolences.
The family expressed their deep gratitude to Supreme Master Ching Hai. Throughout their efforts, the relief team also distributed SOS fliers to inform people of the veg solution to halt global warming.

The Agency head of 18’th Neighborhood from Xiaolin Village (M): I thank Supreme Master Ching Hai from the bottom of my heart.

VOICE: We are grateful to Supreme Master Ching Hai for her loving concern and support for those in need, and also thank our Association’s relief team for their earnest endeavors.
