Scientists in Norway gathering rock core data confirm that carbon today is being released into the atmosphere 10 times faster than a period of high temperatures 55 million years ago, as they note that the current rate may be faster than ecosystems can adapt.

Canadian scientists studying lake sediment confirm that a 1999 severe storm in the Northwest Territories that brought the Arctic Ocean 20 kilometers inland, leaving a swath of salt-water destruction that has not recovered even today, was in fact an event related to global warming and an indication of things to come.
