Supreme Master Ching Hai interviewed on veganism.

Dr. Gabriel Cousens is a medical doctor and psychiatrist who became one of the earliest American doctors to adopt a holistic approach to health. Currently he is the director of the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center in Arizona, USA as well as in Israel. For 15 years his programs have helped many people, including diabetic patients, recover their health and well-being through holistic spiritual activities and vegan diets. Dr. Cousens was also a panelist at the recent Climate Change International Conference with Supreme Master Ching Hai in Los Angeles, USA. Dr. Cousens invited Supreme Master Ching Hai as a guest to discuss veganism and healthy living on his program “Dialogues with Gabriel.”

Gabriel Cousens, M.D., Holistic health physician, author, vegan (M): Could you explain, in your experience, how veganism is a way of healing the world?

Supreme Master Ching Hai : Gladly, Dr. Cousens. As we know, through scientific evidence and the United Nations report, that meat eating is the worst cause of pollution in the world. And the pollution right now is the one that causes global warming. And global warming is a cause of so much suffering up to date in every corner of the planet. So if we turn into veganism, we will stop all this pollution, or at least 80, 90% of it. And the rest we can do it in time. So veganism, or vegetarianism, it’s the same to me, means animal-free products, including our clothings, not just food, that will help to heal the planet and in turn save the population of the world.

VOICE: We appreciate Dr. Gabriel Cousens’ efforts in promoting the healthful vegan lifestyle in his work with his patients and participants at the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center.

We especially thank Supreme Master Ching Hai who truly has been dedicated in working for the rescue of our world. May we all sustain our own lives and those around us by adopting the pure and much healthier, animal-free diet.

The full interview with Supreme Master Ching Hai will be available for viewing at a later date at www.gabrielcousens.com.

The world’s second largest fresh water lake under threat.

Experts say that Lake Victoria, which forms part of the border for Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya, is being jeopardized due to over-fishing, pollutants and climate change. Waste as well as agricultural and industrial effluents all are routinely discharged into the lake, which has also suffered a loss in water level as a result of global warming effects. The pollution has also led to the growth of toxic green algae on the surface of the lake, which can affect human health.
We appreciate this research and pray for swift measures to protect Lake Victoria, for the benefit of humans and animals alike.

Nearly fifty percent of all primates now threatened with extinction.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has released preliminary figures for its October update of the Red List of Threatened Species. This report details the world’s primates that are facing extinction, mainly through destroyed rainforest habitats as well as human hunting and wildlife trade. Seventy one percent of Asian primates are listed as endangered, with more than 10 percent critically endangered, including the beautiful grey-shanked douc langur and the distinctive cotton top tamarind.

You have our gratitude, IUCN, for raising awareness about the dire state of our primate friends. With Heaven’s grace, may we work quickly in loving and responsible stewardship of the Earth, to preserve their lives and our own.
