Founded in 2008, the 55-member orchestra is made up of both Kurds and Arabs. It is directed by Scottish conductor Mr. Paul MacAlindin.
Teachers from Europe and the United States also assist the members, most of whom originally learned to play through online instruction. The orchestra has given well-received concerts, which were aired on Iraqi television channels.
Bravo, The National Youth Orchestra of Iraq and all those assisting in your wonderful musical journey. May you bring the melodies of joy and tranquility to every corner of your blessed land.
