 7 Hearts – Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation announced a donation of US$900 million towards eliminating tuberculosis.
 
 6 Hearts – Mr. Jin Dan
With the assistance of resources donated by people through the Internet, Mr. Jin Dan of Inner Mongolia has been able to provide loving shelter for over 1,000 previously stray dogs.
 6 Hearts – United Nations World Food Program
The United Nations World Food Program purchased from and donated to Afghanistan 4,000 metric tons of wheat, thus feeding many people and bringing US$1.1 million to the country’s economy.
 
 6 Hearts – Hong Kong
Hong Kong donated US$154,000 for flood victims in Nepal.
 
 6 Hearts – European Commission
The European Commission provided €5 million in humanitarian assistance for the displaced people from Ethiopia.
 
 6 Hearts – UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon donated his own award money in the amount of US$100,000 to the United Nations Human Settlements Program.
 
 6 Hearts – Germany
Germany pledged an additional €2 million to Lebanon to improve living conditions in Palestinian refugee camps.
 
 6 Hearts – European Commission
The European Commission has made a swift and generous donation of €500,000 to the World Food Program for flood-affected people in Nepal.
 
 6 Hearts – Japan
Japan is assisting North Korea with a US$500,000 gift to help with the shutdown and sealing of the Yongbyon nuclear facility.
 
 6 Hearts – Carlos Slim Helu
Mexico’s Carlos Slim Helu announced a US$500 million project to improve sanitation conditions throughout Latin America.
 
 6 Hearts – Lawrence S. Ting Memorial Fund & Phú Mỹ Hưng Joint Venture Co.
The Lawrence S. Ting Memorial Fund, a Formosan charity, and the Aulacese Phú Mỹ Hưng Joint Venture Company have provided scholarships totaling US$31,500 to needy and disabled Aulacese (Vietnamese) students who have excelled in school.
 
 6 Hearts – Germany
Germany has contributed US$28 million to India for a six-year project to alleviate poverty through natural resources management.
 
 6 Hearts – South Korea & United Nations
South Korea and the United Nations announced emergency aid funds of US$46 million and US$2 million respectively, for flood victims in North Korea.
 
 6 Hearts – European Commission
The European Commission provided US$3.3 million to flood-affected people in Bangladesh for food, water, emergency shelter and healthcare.
 
 6 Hearts – Fazle Hasan Abed
Fazle Hasan Abed of Bangladesh received the Clinton Global Citizenship Award for setting up an organization to help over 100 million rural people in areas such as improving their income, education and health care.
 6 Hearts – United Kingdom
UK gave €2 million in aid for Chad refugees through the World Food Program.
 
 6 Hearts – Norway
Norway sent relief funds of 8 million Krone (US$1.48 million) for flood victims in Nicaragua, Jamaica, Belize, St. Lucia, Dominica and Haiti after Hurricane Dean.
 
 6 Hearts – European Union
Following the Greece forest fires, the European Union donated US$240 million for rebuilding, with an additional US$546 million available if needed.
 
 6 Hearts – Farzana of India
Farzana, a 15-year-old girl in India, risked her own life to save five other people from drowning when she saw their boat overturn in a nearby river.
 
 6 Hearts – Japan
Japan provided US$2 million to the United Nations Refugee Agency to continue to help ease conditions for the Nepalese refugees.
 
 6 Hearts – Australia
Australia sent an additional AU$3.6 million (US$3.2 million) to assist Southeast Asia relief work after severe flooding and heavy rainfall.
 
 6 Hearts – Japan
The Japanese government has given approximately US$73,000 to two NGOs in Nigeria, as aid for the provision of water, improvement of sanitation facilities and support for training center activities.

China sent its fifth shipment of aid to Darfur, including US$5.2 million in cross-country vehicles, ambulances, medical instruments and mobile houses.

As a contribution for the well being of retired police dogs and other animals, Nina Ireland made a US$1 million donation to Pets Unlimited in San Francisco, the USA’s oldest non-profit animal shelter.
 
 6 Hearts – New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg contributed US$9 million through a family foundation for the development of traffic safety programs in Âu Lạc (Vietnam) and Mexico.
 
 6 Hearts – Asian Development Bank
The Asian Development Bank donated US$1 million in aid to improve health care for needy children in Âu Lạc (Vietnam), including distribution of vitamins and medicines.
 
 6 Hearts – Bayer Cares Foundation
Following forest fires in Greece, Bayer Cares Foundation donated US$200,000 in emergency aid for the reconstruction of a health center and school.
 
 6 Hearts – United Kingdom
The United Kingdom pledged a US$8 million gift in support of Nepal’s peace process.

The European Union provided US$40 million to Uruguay for social cohesion projects and for research and development.

Australia gave an additional AUS$1.85 million to benefit 1.5 million flood victims in Bangladesh.

Welshman Nigel Worth has set out to row 311 miles in a home-made boat to raise £5,000 for orphaned children in Swaziland.

The European Union donated US$7.8 million for a water project that will supply water to approximately 50,000 families in rural Angola.

International relief organization provided US$1 million in medical aid to North Korea to treat 20,000 flood victims.

The first delivery of a US$14 million food aid donation from USAID has arrived in Sri Lanka to benefit 1 million people.

US Millennium Challenge Corporation donated US$700 million to Morocco to boost its economy and living standards.

Norway announced immediate debt relief to Gambia of 2.5 million Norwegian Krone and will waive the 7 million Krone balance in the future.
 
 6 Hearts – Algeria & Mali
Algerian and Mali governments released over US$2 million to Nomadic Tuaregs for projects in the Timbuktu, Gao and Kidal regions.
 
 6 Hearts – People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)
PETA donated US$120,000 for research by International QSAR Foundation to Reduce Animal Testing, whose goal is to completely replace animal testing with computerized “virtual testing” equivalents.

Ireland approved €1 million to fund emergency flood relief for 7,000 families in Uganda and 18,000 in Ghana.

The United States approved a US$3.7 million donation in development aid to the Philippine region of Mindanao, bringing the total over the next five years to US$194 million.

The “Better Distribution of Wealth” initiatives of President Hugo Chavez in Venezuela have resulted in dramatic reductions in poverty and preventable diseases.

USAID funded a US$1 million project with Queen Rania in Jordan to raise awareness and improve the lives of Jordanian women.

For the 400 Lost Boys of Sudan who came to Arizona in America, Reita Hutson’s giving heart offered them love, support and a place to call home.

India donated US$10 million to Bangladesh for 40,000 metric tons of rice and 10,000 metric tons of wheat going to those affected by recent flooding.
 
 5 Hearts – Uncle Ben’s Food Company
Uncle Ben’s donated US$1 million to open additional Kid’s Cafe locations in the US, which will provide more than 150,000 free meals and snacks to low-income children each year.

Investment firm Indochina Capital donated US$100,000 in scholarships to students in central Âu Lạc (Vietnam).

Japan provided US$84,000 for the construction of classrooms in northern Âu Lạc (Vietnam), helping over 450 local pupils to continue their education.
 
 5 Hearts – Pacific Gas and Electric Company
California’s Pacific Gas and Electric Company donated US$1.2 million to Habitat for Humanity for installation of solar systems on Habitat-built homes.
 
 5 Hearts – Andrew Forrest
Australian billionaire Andrew Forrest donated US$80 million of his personal fortune to the Australian Children’s Trust.
 
 5 Hearts – China
China is building a 40,000-capacity stadium in Zambia as a testimonial of the friendship between the two countries.
 
 5 Hearts – Formosa (Taiwan)
Nicaragua received US$350,000 in relief funds from Formosa (Taiwan) after the September 4 hurricane.
