Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association relief news update from Âu Lạc (Vietnam).
 
Since October, waves of heavy rains pummeled the country’s central and southern provinces, affecting hundreds of thousands of people and claiming over 80 lives. On October 7 and again on October 28, Supreme Master Ching Hai donated a total of US$20,000, asking our nearest Association members to please render aid to the most vulnerable. This amount could purchase US$320,000 in needed materials, if obtained in the United States, based on Âu Lạc’s cost of living. Our Association’s relief team from Âu Lạc traveled as soon as possible to assist in the most affected areas.

Aulacese Correspondent (M): I am standing here in the village of Sơn Trà, Bình Đông Commune, Bình Sơn District, Quảng Ngãi Province. Where I stand is where 6 houses in Sơn Trà village have been completely destroyed due to the flood. Concerned about the plight of the people, Supreme Master Ching Hai sent her love and some gifts to help the people of Sơn Trà Hamlet, Bình Đông Commune, Bình Sơn District in Quảng Ngãi Province, to share with the people at this difficult time. Each gift includes 25 kilograms of rice, a box of vegan noodles, a blanket, and a 20- square-meter tarpaulin, and 2 million Aulacese (Vietnamese) đồng.

Relief recipient – Phước Thiện Hamlet, Quảng Ngãi province (M): We and the people here are very grateful for Master’s support to the people affected by the disaster.


VOICE: With the help of local officials, the relief team brought supplies as well as cash gifts to about 300 families in the provinces of Phan Rang, Phú Yên, Quảng Ngãi, then Hà Tĩnh.

Elderly relief recipient - Vạn Phước Village, Phan Rang Province (M): We were in a very difficult situation. Then I received this gift. I thank Supreme Master Ching Hai for giving this special gift to our family.

Young relief recipient – Hamlet 2, Đa Lộc Commune, Phú Yên Province (F): I am grateful to Supreme Master Ching Hai for helping our three sisters.
