In humanitarian news, Germany donates €10 million to promote peace in Afghanistan. The funding is to the Afghanistan Peace and Reintegration Programme for 2010 via the United Nations Development Program. It will be used to help ensure that training and employment opportunities are available to assist individuals in integrating back into society. The German government will be providing a total of €50 million over a five-year period to support the initiative.
