- Pemanasan global dapat menyebabkan gunung berapi berlapis es seperti Eyjafjallaj๖kull Islandia menjadi lebih mudah meletus karena kehilangan es yang menyebabkan hilangnya tekanan pada batu panas di bawah permukaan Bumi.23 (Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A, 2010)
Meningkatnya risiko keruntuhan gunung berapi dengan tanah longsor yang dapat mengubur kota-kota.24 (David Pyle, a volcanologist at the University of Oxford, Bill McGuire of University College London and Rachel Lowe at the University of Exeter, UK)
- Banjir karena danau es meluap semakin meningkat karena danau dari es ini terus mencair semakin banyak baik dalam jumlah maupun ukuran di Kathmandu.25 (International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) in Kathmandu, 2010)
