Scientists warn of continued rise in sea temperatures. 

A team of researchers are currently aboard the Aigaio oceanographic vessel near Sicily, where they have found a 2 degree rise in the temperatures of the Black and Mediterranean Seas within the past 25 years. Evangelos Papathanssiou, research director of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research of Greece, said, “This is a large increase for this period.”  The Adriatic Sea has also risen a shocking 4 degrees Celsius. Scientists, who have already confirmed that rising temperatures cause tropical storms to become even stronger, say that the seas will continue to warm if climate change is not reversed.
