UK Prime Minister David Cameron visits China. Leading the largest British delegation ever, Prime Minister Cameron arrived for a two-day visit along with four Cabinet members and 43 business leaders for discussions intended to expand trade relations between the two countries. While there, the prime minister spoke to university students in Beijing about the roles of media and law in enhancing a country’s stability and prosperity. He also met with Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao. Premier Wen later called the meetings fruitful, and Prime Minister Cameron affirmed, “Britain … has a very business-friendly government and wants to have a much, much stronger relationship with China.”

We laud this auspicious meeting, Your Excellencies, and your nations’ blossoming relations. Wishing you ever expanding harmonious ties that benefit all people of China and the United Kingdom.
